mark rast is a boston based cameraman/photographer/lighting director/writer.

he has worked on all types of productions and with all types of formats, ...film, video, stills, commercials, corporate, features, indies, news, broadcast,
his first job was as an unpaid production assistant for a second-unit film crew shooting Martha's Vineyard pick-up shots for Jaws-II.
his second job was running camera on a black and white corporate video for a boston insurance company.
a more recent job included capturing images for a high definition green screen production used to create a virtual spokesperson. another was lighting a 9 camera millionaire charity poker tournament. still another was photographing wildlife swimming across a mist covered pond at dawn. nobody had to pay him to do that one. he just did it because it was five a.m. and he thought it was pretty.
in-between he has done just about everything else. he's worked with leaders and losers and cops and robbers and witnessed pieces of history.
to relax, he creates content for his blogsite, kielbasablog.com . nobody has to pay him to do that either.
he was born in detroit, teen-aged in connecticut, and came to boston to go to school. he has been there ever since.
he has kids, he has cats, he has debts, he has health, he has flaws and he has friends, and for all of this he is very, very grateful.
